Baba Akintunde Ṣàngósakin Àjàlá founded Iba Orisa Temple in 2010 and is a professional practitioner of Traditional IFA and Orisa worship with over 17 years of training and experience in Osogbo, Nigeria in the Family of Ajala lineage of SANGO devotees.

 

Baba Ṣàngósakin attended Oyo State College of Education, Oyo State, Nigeria and Ifa Heritage Institute Oyo, Nigeria. He is one of the first students to learn under Oloye Fakayode Faniyi as Babalawo. Baba Ṣàngósakin received IFA Initiation when he was 15 years old and a few years later, he initiated to SANGO.

 

Since then, Baba Ṣàngósakin has been practicing Orisa religion as Babalawo (IFA priest) and Babalorisa and has been in lineage of Sango since he was born. Baba Sangosakin's father, Sangodare Gbadegesin Ajala is the head of all Sango priests and priestesses in Osogbo and a famous artist in Nigeria.

Baba Ṣàngósakin is trained on how to use various items for divination such as: Ikin(Palm nut seed), Opele(Ifa chain) and Erindinlogun (Cowries). In addition, he is training to become an Artist as a Bronze Caster.

Baba Ṣàngósakin has trained many students and initiated many into the tradition. He has completed many IFA ceremonies in Nigeria. In addition, he has lectured and held several trainings in Nigeria, the USA and other parts of the world.

 

Baba Ṣàngósakin has done several Sango performances since 2005, starting from Oyo town during Sango world festival, Sango festival in Osogbo, Sango festival in Ede and many other states in Nigeria. Baba Ṣàngósakin has traveled to many countries: Ghana, Austria, Germany, Italy, Canada, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, and the USA.

 

Baba Ṣàngósakin has performed in the USA in Maryland, Georgia, Kentucky, New York City, Alabama and several other states. He currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
